SUMMARY:Workshop Restore and broaden the base for women’s human rights after Covid-19 in Europe
DESCRIPTION:Soroptimist International Europe\, SIE\, organises and invites together with our seconding partners all full mem-bers of the European Women’s Lobby to our Issue Group Workshop.\nAt the workshop we will explore conclusions and recommendations built on answers to our survey on how to restore and broaden the base for women’s human rights. The width and number of answers show what impact Covid-19 has had on women’s rights and the status of gender equality in Europe. Members have ex-pressed their top three urgent issues and the financial situation. Analysis of the results will be presented at the workshop inviting all participants to contribute. Porte parole du Collectif féministe pour le Forum Génération Egalité \n  \nCette année\, la Ville de Paris accueille la célébration du 25ème anniversaire de la Conférence mondiale sur les droits des femmes (Pékin+25). Cette célébration nous rappelle que l’égalité entre femmes et hommes est une valeur universelle prééminente consacrée par des traités de portée mondiale et européenne\, qui doit être promue dans tous les domaines\, conformément au Programme d’action de Pékin\, par tous les Etats\, les pouvoirs publics et les acteurs privés sous leur juridiction. \nCela est crucial surtout en ce moment de pandémie sans précédent à l’échelle planétaire\, alors que «les femmes et les filles souffrent des pires conséquences de l’impact social et économique massif de la pandémie»\, comme l’affirme le Chef des Nations Unies. Les inégalités et la pauvreté dont souffrent les femmes sont exacerbées; les violences domestiques explosent\, tout comme le harcèlement et la violence dans l’espace public et d’autres crimes contre les femmes et les filles; des attaques violentes contre les droits des femmes et les défenseur-e-s de ces droits se multiplient et culminent au coeur même de l’Europe comme dans le monde. Tous les progrès des dernières décennies en matière d’égalité entre femmes et hommes risquent d’être anéantis\, alertent les institutions européennes et internationales. \nOr\, «l’égalité des sexes et les droits des femmes sont essentiels pour traverser ensemble cette pandémie\, pour se rétablir plus rapidement et pour construire un avenir meilleur pour tous »*. Pour prévenir les inégalités\, les violences et les crimes terribles qui frappent les femmes et les filles\, il est primordial et urgent d’éduquer les nouvelles générations à l’égalité entre filles et garçons dès le plus jeune âge et d’éradiquer les normes et les stéréotypes sexistes. \nA l’occasion de la Journée de l’Europe\, cet événement place au centre du débat l’éducation à l’égalité entre femmes et hommes en tant que droit humain.
